Lake Havasu City, AZ

Our 4 nights stay at the Campbell Cove RV Park in Lake Havasu City were nice. We did do a little hiking around the desert just east of town. One night we went out to one of the lighthouses for a sunset photo. There are very nice bike/walking paths and parks along the lake. We really liked this area and having the lake here gives it real possibilities for a possible winter home.

The London Bridge is here…yes, that London Bridge! Because the bridge was not designed to withstand the impact of 20th century automotive traffic, it was placed on the market. In 1968 the winning bid went to Lake Havasu City founder for $2,460,000. Before the bridge was disassembled, each block was meticulously numbered. The blocks were then shipped overseas through the Panama Canal to California and trucked from Long Beach to Arizona, where the bridge was reconstructed in Lake Havasu City. Pretty neat!!
